  • Cambridgeshire districts: Cambridge, East Cambridgeshire, Fenland, Huntingdonshire, South Cambridgeshire
  • Peterborough.

Local Partnerships

There are 3 Local Delivery Vehicles operating in the LSCP:

Funding

LSCP is benefiting from major levels of funding. Around £59m was allocated to LSCP through the first round of the Growth Areas Fund (2003-2006) and around £73m was allocated to capital projects in the second round (2006-2008), including £13m for green spaces. Authorities within the LSCP area received a further £176m from the Growth Fund during 2008/09-2009/10, and are due to receive £33.2m for 2010/11. LSCP projects have also been allocated more than £32.5m from the Community Infrastructure Fund.

Other government investment in LSCP includes:

  • the £490m A14 Ellinton to Fen Ditton improvement scheme
  • £95m support for the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway
  • £4.14m for the East of England region from the Department for Transport's Kickstart scheme for bus service improvements
  • £385,000 for Cambridgeshire from the Transport Innovation Fund.

London

The London LSCP boroughs face different opportunities from other parts of the growth area. The population is forecast to grow considerably over the coming years. Changing land use patterns in north-east London present capacity for housing on brownfield land, but the cost of remediation can sometimes be considerable. Infrastructure improvements are often needed in areas where housing densities are set to increase.

Cambridge

The economic success of Cambridgeshire has made it one of the most attractive places to live and work in the UK. However, ongoing prosperity is crucially dependent on the provision of new homes and infrastructure, which will provide the foundations for the well-being of the area.

Peterborough

Peterborough has a history of successful growth through the original New Towns programme. Studies have identified significant potential for town centre regeneration and urban extension.
