Sustainable Homes Index For Tomorrow (SHIFT)

SHIFT is the standard by which affordable housing providers prove their environmental performance by benchmarking performance in mitigating and adapting to climate change. HCA commissioned Sustainable Homes to carry out analysis of the data resulting from the operation of SHIFT.

  • 'Adoption of Sustainability Measures' looks at SHIFT members’ uptake of sustainability measures in respect of strategy and management: office practices: existing buildings: and new build.
  • The Case Study Compendium describes and shares excellent practice among SHIFT members.
  • 'An Appetite for Retrofit’ is a survey of SHIFT members to assess desire to retrofit existing social housing stock.
