In the North East, regeneration and renewal sit alongside growth and affordability issues, creating a region with challenging housing aspirations.
The North East is made up of four sub-regions: Northumberland, Durham, Tees Valley and Tyne & Wear. We work closely with local authorities and sub-regional partnerships to create sustainable communities in both rural and urban areas. Our investments will deliver 1,000 affordable homes each year.

These reflect established regional housing strategies and regional plans and take account of the programme commitments made by Communities and Local Government (CLG), the Housing Corporation and English Partnerships which are now the responsibility of the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

The National Affordable Housing Programme (NAHP) funding is allocated through a process of continuous market engagement. Our quarterly regional investment statements set out the proportion of this funding that has been allocated for each region.
