< Back to news indexThe new housing and regeneration body, the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), has appointed leading commercial development expert and former chairman of Lend Lease Europe, Nigel Hugill, as Special Advisor to its chief executive Sir Bob Kerslake.
The three-month appointment will entail Mr Hugill providing advice on the commercial aspects of a range of innovative housing and regeneration development projects and additional support to the HCA in establishing new and flexible financial models for intervention in difficult economic conditions.
Chief executive of the Homes and Communities Agency Sir Bob Kerslake said: “He brings a wealth of property expertise, which will be invaluable in supporting our work of maintaining capacity both in the housing and commercial property sector, keeping the market moving during difficult times, and applying our Single Conversation way of doing business with developers.”
Prior to taking up this appointment, Mr Hugill had worked extensively in the commercial development sector at senior level; most notably, this included helping secure Lend Lease as preferred developer for Stratford’s Olympic Village, and for the £1bn regeneration of London’s Elephant & Castle.
