Richard Hill appointed interim chief executive

Published date : 21 January 2013

The Homes and Communities Agency today announced that Richard Hill has been appointed as chief executive and accounting officer of the Agency, on an interim basis until such time as the process to recruit a permanent chief executive is completed.

Currently director of programmes and deputy chief executive of the HCA, Mr Hill will take up his new role as of 26 January, following Pat Ritchie’s departure to Newcastle City Council.

Mr Hill said:

“I am pleased to take on leadership of the HCA during a challenging yet exciting period. My priority will be to ensure that the HCA meets its year end delivery targets, while business planning for the year ahead and making a strong contribution to the Government’s 2015/16 spending review.”

Chairman of the HCA, Robert Napier, said:

“Richard has a wealth of experience and a strong existing leadership role at the Agency, and as deputy chief executive he is the natural choice to lead the Agency throughout this crucial year end period.”

Richard Hill was formerly director of investment at the Housing Corporation, and before that held senior roles at NHSU and the New Opportunities Fund.
