Growth & renewal

Bringing about sustainable growth and renewal are intrinsically linked to successful economic development which relies on a good balance between the creation of jobs, leisure facilities and affordable new homes.

The ambition of the Homes and Communities Agency is to deliver high-quality attractive and affordable places for people to live, work and enjoy – whether creating new communities from scratch, or transforming existing ones. Our work doesn’t just apply to declining urban areas and inner-city housing estates, but also to rural and coastal areas, along with former mining communities, throughout the country.

Key to achieving this ambition is our ability to respond to the varying needs of the local community by forging strong collaborative working methods, adopting a strategic approach, and targeting areas of greatest need.
