Community Infrastructure Fund
The Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF) supports transport infrastructure delivery across the Growth Areas and Growth Points. The additional funding complements rather than replaces mainstream transport funding.
CIF will support the type of transport schemes that are vital locally in unlocking large housing development sites, enabling the acceleration of sustainable housing growth for new and existing communities.
The first rounds of funding called CIF1 ran from 2006-2008 and provided £200m to support 22 schemes across the Growth Areas.
The second round called CIF2 runs between 2008-2011, providing £300m of funding across the Growth Areas and Growth Points. 46 schemes are being supported.
